Senior Regional VAT Specialist - Budapest

Your key responsibilities

● Conducting thorough reviews of intricate VAT returns and client data.

● Monitoring changes in VAT laws and integrating them into company processes.

● Examining and approving VAT guides.

● Providing training, guidance, and assistance to team members and the Country Expert community, facilitating country-specific and other training programs.

● Maintaining effective communication with clients and tax authorities.

● Compiling VAT newsletters for internal use and client distribution.

● Offering troubleshooting expertise and proposing effective solutions for client issues.

● Assuming the role of an "Internal Auditor" to ensure compliance with country-specific requirements.

● Collaborating and communicating with other teams in the company, serving as an "Internal VAT Advisor" for client management, legal transitions, testing, and technology.

● Having the opportunity to take on additional supportive roles or projects within the team.


Requirements

For this position, we are interested in speaking to candidates who have a college or university degree. Additionally, you should possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in VAT compliance and advisory. Previous experience as a Tax/VAT Advisor would be advantageous, as well as having a strong grasp of VAT technical knowledge.

Proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel is required for this role. Fluency in English is a must, and fluency in another language is preferred.

You should also have the ability to interpret and adapt to legal requirements, along with good stakeholder management skills. The ability to prioritise and multitask, as well as good attention to detail, are crucial qualities for this position. Lastly, you should demonstrate a willingness to train individuals.
