Group Tax Manager - work remotely anywhere in the UK or EU

A leading global publicly listed group based in Ireland, trading in over 70+ countries is currently looking for a Global International Tax Manager to join their Tax team, remotely in of the UK, Ireland or Mainland Europe.

This is a unique opportunity is ideal for a commercially astute, ambitious tax professional, who is eager to learn, grow and develop their career in the HQ of this fantastic group working closely with the Group’s most senior executives in Group Tax and Group Finance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

International Tax Strategy & Planning
With a presence in over 70 countries, this group is a truly global company.
The Group Tax Manager will work closely with the Group Head of Tax and other Group functions in designing, implementing and monitoring the Group’s international tax strategy.

Key areas will include:
Design and implementation of tax efficient profit repatriation strategies.
Pillar 2 impact assessment, mitigation planning and compliance
Working collaboratively with other Group functions on tax efficient cross border financing arrangements which support the Group’s investment and treasury strategies.
Design and implementation of legal entity reorganisations.
Compliance with important international tax laws in material tax jurisdictions, e.g. US tax reform, CFC rules; interest limitation rules; anti-hybrid rules; etc.
Responding efficiently and effectively to international developments (OECD, EU, unilateral; etc) and preserving an optimised Group tax strategy.
Effectively communicating the Group’s international tax strategy and projects to other Group functions and people within the business.

Mergers & Acquisitions
Strategic investments are at the heart of the Group’s growth strategy, and this is reflected in the large number of successful acquisitions by the Group over the last decade. The Group Tax Manager will work closely with the Group’s M&A team on all aspects of the Group’s M&A agenda, e.g. tax due diligence; acquisition structuring; post-acquisition integration; etc.

Key areas will include:
Working collaboratively with the Group M&A team and its network of advisors on investment appraisals and the completion of tax due diligence and legal workstreams, e.g. SPA review; etc.
Design and implementation of tax efficient acquisition and financing structures and the effective communication of these structures to supporting Group functions (Group M&A; Group Legal; Group Treasury; etc).
Addressing and resolving tax risks identified during due diligence as part of the post-acquisition review process.
Review and advice on transaction agreements, e.g. tax covenants; tax indemnities; etc.
Supporting Group Finance with Fair Value accounting workstreams post-acquisition.

Transfer Pricing
With six autonomous divisions operating in over 70 countries, coupled with substantial M&A activity, the design and implementation of the Group’s transfer pricing policies are a priority area of focus for the Group Tax function.

The Group Tax Manager will play a hands-on role in ensuring that the Group’s transfer pricing policies are aligned with the Group’s tax strategy and that these policies are implemented efficiently and effectively across the Group.

Key areas will include:
Supporting the design and implementation of the Group’s transfer pricing policy.
Liaising with international local finance teams to ensure the Group’s transfer pricing policies are applied consistently across the Group.
Documentation of the Group’s transfer pricing policies for internal and external reporting purposes, e.g. transfer pricing policy reports; Local File; Master File; etc.
Engagement with international tax authorities and Group auditors on transfer pricing matters, e.g. tax audits; reviews; etc.

Tax Compliance & Reporting
The Group Tax Manager will work closely with the Group’s international finance teams and a network of tax advisors to ensure that the Group’s corporate tax compliance obligations are satisfied in an effective and efficient manner.
The Group Tax Manager will also be involved in the reporting process on key tax provisions as part of the Group’s periodic reporting processes..

Key areas will include:
Liaising with the Group’s network of international tax advisors and Kingspan finance teams to coordinate the completion of the Group’s global compliance obligations.
Responsibility for current and deferred tax accounting as part of the Group’s periodic tax reporting processes.
Collaborating with Group Finance and BIS teams to enhance existing tax technology systems in addition to designing and implementing new systems which further enhance tax reporting processes.

Group Tax Advisory
The Group Tax Manager will support international finance teams on a broad variety of domestic and international tax matters which support the Group’s business strategy.

Key areas of focus will include:
Global trade matters and tax efficient supply chain management.
Tax administration of global equity schemes.
Global mobility tax matters.
Supporting Group finance teams with international tax audits and enquiries.
Identifying and availing of tax incentive opportunities globally, i.e. R&D tax credits; innovation tax regimes; etc.

Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate should be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with an Irish / UK or International Equivalent Chartered Tax Advisor qualification and the following demonstrable skills, experience and qualities:

At least 2 years post qualification experience in a professional practice firm or industry tax role
Strong international tax knowledge and understanding of the tax agenda of a publicly listed group
Strong analytical and research skills. Ability to simplify and communicate technical tax issues to non-tax people across the business
Experience in IFRS tax accounting principles
A dynamic team player who is self-motivated and dedicated to delivering quality work
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate good organisational and time management skills
