* Setting, communicating and embedding tax strategy and policy in the UK - working with the senior finance team in the UK and group as needed
* Provide Practical and risk assessed tax advice to stakeholders
* Managing all aspects of Tax filing and compliance - ensuring completeness, accuracy and that all deadlines are met for all areas of tax - principally corporation tax, VAT, payroll taxes andWHT. Specifically:

* Corporation Tax - manage the process of preparation and filing of large number of tax returns with variety of year ends, CIR filing process, manage group payment arrangements, payments on account etc
* VAT - manage quarterly VAT return process, VAT registrations & groups
* Payroll Taxes - Working closely with HR and payroll departments on all payroll tax compliance matters.
* SAO - manage process for filing of annual SAO returns for all group entities
* WHT - filing of relevant returns, inclusion of claims in corporation tax returns etc

* Managing all aspects of tax accounting & reporting - ensuring complete, accurate and timely calculation and reporting of tax actuals and estimates - including management reporting of YTD actuals, full year forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, statutory reporting, audit and other ad hoc stakeholder requirements e.g. for tax planning.
* Ensuring the business has a robust tax control environment and set of processes to ensure complete, accurate, timely and efficient reporting of tax figures both for HMRC, and to other reporting stakeholders.
* Put in place a mechanism for regular review of processes to identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation of tax working practices.
* Optimising tax affairs
* Manage all aspects of relationship with HMRC, ensure informed of all matters in discussion with HMRC, deal appropriately with all HMRC enquiries, issues, disclosures, risk reviews etc.
* Keeping abreast of business and tax developments, assessing impact of new and existing legislation requirements for the group. Consider and consult on tax implications for any new business activity, acquisition etc
* Work with external advisors on complex matters where external advice is required or where items are outsourced.
* Optimise tax cash flows and ensure tax cashflow forecast is fed into cashflow forecasting process
* Ad hoc tax requests as required
