It is rare these days to find a senior level role that focuses on running a portfolio without having additional responsibility for managing teams or winning work. This very successful and well managed practice prides itself on its friendly and supportive atmosphere. It is traditional in approach in all the right ways, but still forward thinking, embracing flexible working practices for example and having a partner group which is both accessible and encouraging.

The client base is fantastic - extremely wealthy private clients, both UK and non-domiciles, and the work is complex.

This role involves responsibility for the running of your own very high quality portfolio. The issues you will typically be dealing with include for example:

• non domicile e.g remittances into the UK and complications therein
• offshore trusts
• residence planning
• complex trust returns
• IHT issues
• EIS planning

You should be professionally qualified with a background in advising clients on a range of complex private tax issues, especially non dom, trusts and IHT planning. This is a role that can be adapted to suit your preferences. If you are happiest remaining as a portfolio manager, engaging with your clients and providing a traditional client led-service, then the firm will be delighted. However, the firm is also gently succession planning so there is scope for the role to develop, giving you the option of the best of both worlds.
