This client is a leading contractor that delivers solutions across the civil engineering and construction sectors.
Description
As the Tax Advisor, timely and accurate tax compliance obligations are required, including:
* Preparation of the Corporation Tax computations/ returns;
* Accurate financial reporting of tax within the statutory account under IFRS
* Review VAT returns and sampling of data;
* Preparation of EC sales list and Intrastat supplementary returns;
* Review of RDEC claims;
Assist the team in other areas of tax that include but are not limited to;
* Provision of tax technical advice to the business on VAT, CT and RDEC matters;
* Assist the business with preparation for Making Tax Digital in April 2020;
* Assist the business with preparation for Domestic Reverse Charge in October 2020;
Other areas of work will include;
* Technical research
* General admin duties
* Liaising with other departments to assist them with tax queries
* Maintaining and updating working knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including new filing practices, deadlines, and any company-specific information.

Qualification
* CTA qualified or qualified by experience
* Can be from practice or industry
Other essential requirements for Tax Advisor role
* Excellent technical knowledge across taxes but mainly in VAT, CT and RDEC;
* General understanding of accounting standards and practices;
* Attention to detail;
* Ability to adapt and learn quickly;
* Proficient with analysing financial data;
* Computer-literate;
* Excellent research skills;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Self-motivated;
* Comfortable working under pressure;
* Strong and effective management of tight and conflicting deadlines
