Hays is proud to be partnered with a reputable London-based independent firm in order to recruit tax staff for their new and evolving Edinburgh office. The firm has approximately 40 staff, with an established tax team of over 10 individuals at various levels, including those studying towards ATT and CTA. By the nature of the training firm, it offers brilliant professional development, as well as one to one mentoring from experienced and forward-thinking tax specialists. Further to this, with the main office being situated in London, the firm offers a brilliant and rare client base for an ambitious Tax Senior or Assistant Manager involving complex compliance and advisory work. Standard hours are 9:15am to 5:30pm, however flexible and agile working are offered.

Your new role
To compliment the current Senior Tax Manager based in the Scottish Capital, you will assist in the management of a diverse corporate client base. This ranges from larger owner managed businesses to large corporates paying in excess of £20 million in annual tax. Examples include international wind farms, property firms and significant manufacturing organisations. As a result, you will be responsible for all compliance requirements on behalf of the organisations and review computations completed by more junior staff members. This will incorporate group relief, large capital allowance claims, R&D claims and foreign tax credits. You will also provide advice and complete significant reports alongside the Senior Manager. Examples include buying and selling advice, property transactions and restructuring.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant, you will have strong corporate tax compliance and advisory support experience, gained in either a specialised or mixed tax capacity within practice. You will be ATT or ideally CTA/ICAS/ACCA/ICAEW-qualified to compliment your practical knowledge. You will be able to work to your own initiative, whilst working within a small team dynamic. Speaking regularly with clients, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage deadlines.
