My clients is the premier CPA firm in the Washington, D.C. area specializing in international and expatriate tax planning and compliance services. With further offices in Miami and New York the firm has established a global reputation for providing outstanding service to a sophisticated clientele of foreign nationals with U.S. interests and Americans with interests abroad.

Due to continued growth my client is seeking a two talented tax professional to provide income tax planning and compliance services to their high-net-worth clients, in particular those with international or small business considerations. The position is a new full-time position in their international tax team, which consists of experienced professionals who prepare and review the firm’s most complex individual and corporate returns.

Your responsibilities include preparing and reviewing U.S. federal and state tax returns for U.S. residents, expatriates, and foreign nationals with complex individual income tax situations, including domestic and foreign investments, partnership interests, multi-state activities, trusts, S corps, C corps, and other financial interests. Meeting and corresponding with clients to explain regulations and tax implications, provide updates, obtain missing information, and answer questions. You will be serving as primary point of contact for key clients and managing client relationships, Monitoring budgets and profitability, providing training and feedback to junior staff. You will be tasked with liaising with wealth managers, as well as corporate payroll and HR departments regarding global investment and compensation issues, reporting requirements, and tax implications of various courses of action.


To be successful in securing this job opportunity you will possess the following experience and skills:
CPA or EA, Three to six years of tax compliance experience with a public accounting firm, with a focus on expatriate taxation, small business taxation, or taxation of individuals with complex global tax situations. Track record providing high-quality services to sophisticated clients, closely held business owners and/or high-net-worth individuals, Experience preparing and/or reviewing a wide range of individual tax forms and schedules, including Forms 1116, 2555, and 8938.
Experience preparing and/or reviewing corporate tax or entity returns is a plus (Forms 1065, 8865, 3520, 5471, 1120, 1120-S, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, BA/MA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or MST, JD, or MBA. Prior international exposure and foreign language skills are a plus.
