This multinational FTSE100 giant holds a key position in several distinct industrial markets. With operations in every continent, it delivers luxury branded products and high value commodities to costumers all over the worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
Taking the lead role on legacy HMRC corporation tax enquiries. This will involve;
• Getting up to speed with the current status of open enquiries from other members of the group’s tax team and/or the group’s tax advisors
• Develop a project plan (in conjunction with HMRC, Group Tax Director and advisors) to agree how to progress the various open items with HMRC
• Lead the worked required to respond to the detailed information requests made by HMRC, supported by the Group Tax Director, advisors, and other members of the tax team / wider business, as appropriate
• Anticipate how HMRC enquiries may develop, and therefore tailor proposed responses accordingly
• Make specific strategic recommendations relating to how to bring individual enquires to a resolution
• Keep the Group Tax Director and other interested parties (for example, business Finance Directors, Group Finance Director and auditors) appraised as to the status and progress being made on historic enquiries

• Develop understanding of current processes and controls around corporation tax, and assess appropriateness and potential areas for improvement
• Using knowledge of legacy questions from HMRC, make recommendations relating to improved processed and controls within the central tax team
• Lead the implementation of agreed improvements in processes and controls, supported by the Group Tax Director and other members of the tax team / wider business, as appropriate


About you:
• ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent
• Strong Corporate Tax background
• Knowledge and strong experience of dealing with HMRC enquiries
• Ability to build strong relationship with HMRC based on mutual respect and trust
