We are seeking to hire an experienced Global Mobility Payroll Tax Manager to work on our client services payroll team which sits in our Tax Practice.


Your work will be varied. Below will be some of your core primary key responsibilities:

Advising on employer compliance obligations with regard to cross border employees e.g. inbound and outbound assignees, short term business visitors, SARP relief, A1 Certificate/Certificate of Coverage applications, PAYE for non-residents, operation of shadow payroll, PAYE exclusion orders, expatriate concessions etc.
Responsible for the successful delivery and review of a portfolio of shadow payroll calculations in respect of cross border senior executives, including gross-ups, hypo taxes, corrections and tax adjustments
Identification of and application of appropriate payroll tax reliefs for foreign executives coming to work in Ireland e.g. SARP, Split Year Treatment, travel and subsistence etc.
Overseeing the successful delivery and review of a portfolio of complex high profile domestic and international payroll clients e.g. senior executives, key directors etc.
Advising on employer compliance obligations with regard to various items of remuneration, including benefits in kind, directors fees, share based remuneration, salary sacrifice, termination payments etc.
Consult with and support our global mobility team on employment tax obligations
Experience identifying areas of employer non-compliance (PAYE audits, due diligence, payroll controls/operational reviews) providing guidance and recommendations on best practice
Quantifying potential payroll tax exposures and assisting with preparation of self-corrections, voluntary disclosures (draft letter, Revenue notifications etc.)
Develop global mobility knowledge, process optimization, and documentation for our payroll team to manage complex shadow payroll queries
Conducting payroll operational effectiveness and payroll tax process reviews, identifying any material gaps in the overall process and suggesting control improvements
Ensuring quality control procedures are adhered to in order to ensure shadow payroll review is carried out to a consistently high quality
Overseeing compliance with real time reporting and timely filing and payment of payroll taxes in respect of shadow payroll employees
To manage and oversee the workflow of the payroll team i.e. reviewing work, allocating work load, managing resources and assessing performance
To assist with PAYE reviews within the wider tax practice
Continual improvement and standardisation of shadow payroll operations and systems, including processes around data collection, co-ordination and management of shadow payrolls
Assisting other departments within KPMG with payroll compliance related queries for their clients

We ideally need you to have the following:

Requirements:

Membership of the Irish Taxation Institute (or equivalent foreign institute) or Qualified accountant (Chartered Accountant or equivalent);
Good technical skills and knowledge of Employment taxes, Expat taxes;
At least 3-5 years of working experience in Global Mobility, expatriate project management or payroll;
Ability to delegate to, manage and review trainee/senior work on allocated clients.
Previous experience in coordinating the global or regional tax compliance services for multinational clients;
