Indirect Tax Senior, Manchester

I'm currently working with a Top 50 firm who are looking for a progressive and driven Indirect Tax Senior.

This is a pure advisory role as the VAT returns are completed by a seperate team. You'll be working within a small team with direct Partner contact. As a result, a clear route to Partner is also on offer. You'll need to be willing to complete your CTA (VAT route) examinations and the firm will fully support you through this.

You will work with the Partner on larger projects, including technical research, drafting advice and assist in disputes and appeals. You will over a short period of time, become the first contact for your own portfolio of clients and as soon as is practicable, you will become the first point of contact for all queries arising from the practice.

You will need to show that you have had a wide exposure to VAT and, ideally, some exposure to customs. The role is a generalist one, but it will be beneficial if you have experience of advising construction and property development clients. The key requirement is technical knowledge and a capacity to research and devise pragmatic solutions to problems.

This is not a 'process and procedures' role and the above duties are not definitive. However, the duties will not include VAT compliance work.
