Senior Manager Employment Tax
South West Region
Great chance to join a fast growing Employment Tax practice which covers the South and M4 corridor.
As an experienced, established Senior Employment Tax Manager, you will play a key role leading and growing the team (South West focus) based out of Bristol. The team has ambitious growth plans, you will need a proven ability to understand clients’ needs, spot opportunities and win work, in a combination of established and innovative/emerging areas of employment tax. This will include the hosting of and attendance at various client seminars.
You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality client work in the South West area, with the support of a local team and also the wider regional team. You will play an important role in managing junior team members, helping them to develop.
You will be advising on all areas of tax and national insurance legislation applicable to employers and the ways in which they engage, remunerate, reward and incentivise employees. This includes employment status and IR35, expenses and benefits, HMRC compliance reviews, PAYE health-checks, termination payments, salary sacrifice, National Minimum Wage and the Apprenticeship Levy.
In addition, you will work closely with the regional Employer Solutions senior leadership team, including the Head of Employment Taxes & Payroll. As a single regional team, this will include some travel to and time spent supporting the other regional offices, although you will be focused on the South West and based out of the Bristol office.
We are ideally looking for:
ATT/CTA qualification and significant post-qualification experience;
Depth and breadth of technical knowledge in all areas of employment tax;
A proven ability to spot and convert employment tax opportunities, client relationships;
A proactive and professional approach to business development, working collaboratively alongside colleagues in other service lines;
Flexibility and an ability to manage your time efficiently, working to sometimes tight deadlines and across multiple projects, often helping sign-out work for the regional team; and
A balanced and supportive style to managing/coaching team members and helping their own development
