Personal Tax Assistant Manager / Manager Job, Leading Independent CA Firm, Glasgow or Edinburgh, £competitive

Your new company
A longstanding, large and independent mid-tier firm with over 10 offices in the UK and 100 Tax employees are partnered with Hays in order to recruit a Personal Tax Assistant Manager or Manager to join either their Glasgow or Edinburgh office. From sole operators to major national companies, the firm tailors its support to businesses whether they focus on domestic or international ambitions. By listening, understanding and building relationships, they are trusted and reputable advisers. The firm encourages and facilitates creative and innovative approaches to deliver the required results across Audit, Accounts, Payroll, Business Advisory & Solutions, Corporate Finance and Tax. In line with this, they have experienced drastic and continued growth, made a number of high-profile appointments and pursue novel operational approaches.

Your new role
You will be responsible for a portfolio of private clients, delivering high quality tax planning and advice, for example, to HNWIs and partnerships. In order to do so, you will maintain a high level of technical knowledge and be a point of contact for HMRC on behalf of your client. You will also manage the team's compliance function and ensure internal policies and procedures are adhered to. Supporting the Partners and Relationship Managers and providing supervision and training to more junior team members, you will help shape and deliver strategy objectives. You will also liaise with various departments to ensure clients receive a comprehensive service, and be responsible for the documentation of time and fees.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant, you will have excellent practical knowledge of UK tax legislation in relation to private clients whilst holding a relevant qualification, for example, CA, ATT and/or CTA. Given this background, you will be able to deliver projects and compliance requirements in an efficient manner whilst maintaining a high quality. You will be confident in your communication to clients and those at all levels internally.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive salary in addition to a range of benefits, including a pension scheme, 34 days annual leave, the ability to gain further holidays, life insurance, and discretionary and introductory bonuses. Remote and flexible working arrangements can also be made.
