Senior Tax Manager Job, Top 15 Chartered Accountancy Firm, Edinburgh, c.£50,000 - £70,000 & progression

Hays has been retained by the Edinburgh office of a national Top 15 firm of Chartered Accountants in order to appoint an ambitious Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager. Your new role
Reporting to and supporting the Tax Partner within a team of 4 Tax Specialists, you will deliver Tax advisory and planning services to a diverse client portfolio. Largely in respect to SMEs, Owner Managed Businesses and Directors projects will cover business reorganisations; succession, remuneration and inheritance planning; and share schemes and shareholder Tax reliefs. Beyond this, you will handle HMRC investigation work on behalf of clients, review compliance carried out by other members of the team in respect to High Net Work Individuals, and actively promote the business, identifying market opportunities and potential customers. In order to do so, you will build and develop client relationships in one to one meetings and presentations, and form commercially viable business proposals, tenders and quotations. Given the sustained success, further recruitment is likely to occur, hence, additional line management responsibilities will development.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Tax professional with excellent technical abilities and the gravitas and personable nature to engage clients, provide high quality advisory services and develop business alongside the Tax Partner. You will be qualified, preferably a CTA, and have a proven track record of operating at Manager or Senior Manager level. Knowledge of both Personal and Corporate Tax is desirable. With a potential route to Partnership, you will demonstrate professionalism, motivation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and commercial awareness.

What you'll get in return
In addition to a competitive salary of between £50,000 and £70,000 depending upon your experience and level, you will receive an annual bonus and be enrolled on a pension scheme in addition to other flexible benefits.
