Our client is a global leader in its industry. Germany is by far the most important country in this international business and so a strong Tax Manager is required to manage all tax affairs in Germany and take on other countries as required. Reporting to the EMEA Tax Manager, the Tax Manager Germany is responsible for handling tax audits, transfer pricing, tax accounting & reporting (current and deferred) under US GAAP, and German corporate tax compliance.
The role will also be the first point of contact for tax audits. This involves digging into systems to collect data to support tax audits. The position interacts internally with various departments and externally with tax auditors and tax advisors. When ready, the role will expand to manage more tax projects across EMEA such as transfer pricing and tax planning.
You will need to have solid German corporate tax (at least 5 years) as well as tax accounting (ideally US GAAP, but IFRS is also fine) from either a Big 4 tax advisory firm or similar commercial environment.
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the tax position in Germany for a market leading, global business. It is a very exciting time to join a strong EMEA tax department. The future will provide some really exciting professional challenges to expand your tax career either in Germany or abroad.
