Vacancy for a motivated and professional Tax Semi-Senior to join a competitive, growing firm in North London.

Your new company

A growing firm in North London specialising in catering to a diverse clientele, including owner-managed businesses, small-to-medium sized companies, and the UK subsidiaries of foreign parent companies. Their unique brand of advice has generated a considerable Personal Tax client base too, with advice ranging from tax planning to trust administration. The common strand running through their Personal and Corporate ventures is a consistently high quality of service, coupled with the dynamism and ingenuity needed to provide the best solutions to their clients. With Partners trained in both Top 20 and Top 10 environments, the investment in your professional growth will be considerable.

Your new role

You will be in charge of maintaining and enhancing a portfolio of clients that consists primarily of sole traders, companies and their directors, and partnerships. This will entail a significant amount of primarily compliance-based work, relating to the preparation of Corporate Tax returns, Trust returns, and Personal Tax returns (including P11Ds). The role is Mixed Tax in nature and as such requires a candidate adept in switching between the two disciplines with ease, meaning experience in a previous Mixed Tax environment will be crucial.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally possess an impeccable knowledge of tax software such as CCH CorTax, CCH Personal Tax and CCH Central products, in addition to Microsoft Office. Underpinning your role will be an already well established length of experience as a Mixed Tax Assistant (at least 6 months to 2 years at the outset). Exposure to preparation work and P11Ds is also essential. Possession of tax qualifications such as the ATT would be an advantage but are not essential. A high standard of work, coupled with good interpersonal skills and client management experience, are essential to success in the role, as is excellent written and oral communication and strict time-keeping.

What you'll get in return

Though primarily compliance-based, a secondary purpose of the role is to encourage the successful candidate to invest in their future by providing study support, as well as the opportunity to progress into more advisory work as time goes by. This investment in your professional career will be helped by a strong team structure with Top 10 talent at the forefront. Additionally, your road-map to higher positions in the firm will be demonstrable as you integrate further into the role.
