Our client has a long history of providing world-leading products and services. Now entering a new exciting chapter in its history, there is a need to recruit a Head of Tax Germany, in its Frankfurt HQ.

Germany is the largest market for the company and has the biggest issues from a compliance and planning perspective so this role critical to the success of the business. The company enjoys a long history but that is combined with a start-up mentality as it enters a new phase in its development.

The Head of Tax Germany will join a global tax team of seven. The role will take a lead on all German tax matters including tax planning, advising the business, tax compliance & reporting. Compliance management will include reviewing compliance done by others, but you must be willing to roll your sleeves up when required. Deep dive on tax audits will be required. There will be planning projects to devise and implement, such as legal entity rationalisation, looking for process improvements and better ways of doing things. Your ideas will be listened to. Although this is mainly focused on Germany due to its importance to the group, there are many secondary international tax issues you will handle. There is huge untapped potential for the business and this role will be responsible for improving the tax position of the organisation.

In the return for a chance to work in an organization where tax has a high internal profile across the business, it is expected that the successful applicant will be a qualified German Tax Advisor and have at least 8 years’ experience in German corporate income tax including some experience of IFRS and/or US GAAP reporting. Fluency in German and English is essential.

It is important that you are a team player, have a ‘can-do’ attitude & can take ownership of your areas of responsibility. You must be able to run & complete projects and have a keen eye for detail. The company continues to grow at a fast pace, so you will need to be comfortable operating in a rapidly changing business environment.
