Role Purpose:
* To support the Head of International and Advisory tax and play a key role in managing the corporate tax affairs of the business.
* Provision of a comprehensive tax advisory service to support the business as it continues to grow (both organically and inorganically) in the UK and internationally
* Provision of tax advice to support the business on legal and operating structure reorganisations, and any alterations to the finance or capital structures of group entities
* Effective and timely communication to the business of the effects of changes to international tax and regulatory rules
Key Outcomes / Responsibilities:
* Assist with Corporate M&A activity both in the UK and globally
* Provide tax support on business growth and change initiatives, coordinating external advisors as necessary
* Assist the business in understanding the tax impact and requirements for set up and growth in overseas jurisdictions and monitor the activities of existing operations to ensure that all overseas tax requirements are met
* Work with other members of the tax team to ensure that the tax effects of business changes are factored into ongoing tax compliance and business processes
* Ensure processes to actively manage outsourced service arrangements exist so as to ensure that service providers meet key deliverables
* Work with key stakeholders to ensure that both ongoing needs and ad hoc requests are met in a timely and appropriate manner
* Ensure effective management of tax advisors and other external inputs
Qualifications:
* Qualified accountant / CTA at experienced manager level
* Strong UK corporate tax background with substantial exposure to international tax issues preferred
* Previous M&A experience
* Experience in financial services or dealing with large corporate groups an advantage
