Practice Accountant Vacancy - Sheffield

Your new company
I am delighted to be working exclusively with a forward thinking, family run accountancy practice based in Sheffield.
The firm was with the aim to reshape the traditional structure of how accountancy practices operate, tailoring their delivery to the requirement of the firm...with outstanding results.

The practice prides itself on their 'family feel', providing a consultancy to their clients as opposed to just 'preparing accounts on a yearly basis.

Your new role
You will be joining the organisation at an exciting stage of their development, and your new role is part of a continued period of company growth.
You will be responsible for your own set of client, with work including bookkeeping and tax accounting areas. Within your role, you will ensure accuracy and completeness of work with attention to detail, while at the same time maintaining productivity.
On appointment, you will have management accounts, final accounts and bookkeeping responsibility for your own portfolio of clients.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have strong bookkeeping and accounting skills, with a minimum of 2 (ideally 3+) years experience working in a similar role or in a practice environment. You will have minimum qualifications of AAT L3.

* Balance Sheet Reconciliation and/or experience of management accounts with Month end journals
* High level of computer literacy, i.e., ability to navigate around a computer and access email, Internet and strong Excel skills
* Organisational skills with high attention to detail
* Good understanding of the accounting industry
* understanding of accounting software programs
* Ability to manage workload and complete reports to a set deadline
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Knowledge of VAT or industry specific financial legislative requirements or ability to learn

What you'll get in return
You'll be part of a forward thinking and progressive practice, where you will learn from a strong managerial team in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
The practice is a friendly, casual office, where focus is not only on providing clients with an excellent service, but also ensuring that your workplace is an enjoyable place to work.

You will be paid £19,000 - £20,000 depending on experience, reporting into the senior accounts manager.
Holiday allowance is generous, with 28 days annual leave including statutory, with bonus leave granted in addition over the festive period (this varies year on year, however this year is c.7 additional days).

You'll enjoy going to work, and with additional staff retreat days, you'll have the opportunity to meet other local office staff too.
