VAT Manager AVP

Our client, a global investment bank is looking for a VAT specialist to come in at the AVP level to join the group tax team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a compliance and reporting focussed role with international scope and good exposure to tax technology.

Key Responsibilities
* Completing VAT returns, including liaising with tax authorities on any ad hoc queries raised
* Completing non-UK VAT returns for submission to overseas tax jurisdictions
* Providing support to the Accounts Payable team and other areas of the Finance function to ensure that all control accounts are reconciled
* Maintaining the Key Operational Procedures of the team and ensuring that these are regularly updated
* Assisting the Head of VAT and other senior VAT Manager on ad hoc projects
* Assuming responsibility for providing advisory support to a number of product areas within the Bank
* Liaising with and managing HMRC control visits, in relation to some of the associate companies that are separately VAT registered
* Maintaining and monitoring VAT accounts, including compliance with internal reporting requirements
* Undertaking/assisting with business VAT reviews

Skills & Qualifications
* Previous experience in VAT and technically aware of the rules governing partial exemption
* Experience of working on projects affecting a number of industry sectors
* FS experience would be advantageous
* A team player who is able to manage a substantial workload
* Tax qualifications would be highly beneficial
* Strong IT skills
