Modern mid-tier firm looking for a Tax specialist to take on a varied and interesting role in corporate tax.

Your new company

A modern firm with an open mindset, my client, based in picturesque St Albans, is looking for a tax specialist to join their busy and close team.


Your new role

A permanent assistant manager role with an excellent career development path and training. Working as part of the corporate client team you will play a key significant part in looking after compliance matters for over 200 corporate clients and their corporation tax needs.


You will work closely with the corporate tax director, the corporate client team, partners and other team members across the practice. Your portfolio will offer involvement with a wide range of companies for whom you'll provide advisory support, as well as helping them to meet corporate tax compliance deadlines.


You will be in direct contact with clients from a diverse range of industries, including: IT developers, property investors and developers and a wide range of professional service firms.

You will have opportunities to work with people from across the business on a wide range of projects.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate has a wide range of experience working in corporate tax. Specific and recent experience, or exposure to some of the following would be useful, not essential and training will be provided to build skills in some of these areas:

* Capital Allowances
* Research and Development
* Patent Box
* Group Tax Planning
* ATED Compliance
* Re-organisations and mergers
* Tax clearance procedures
* EIS
* EMI Share option schemes - set up and EMI returns
* CGT- especially entrepreneur's relief
* Company purchase of own shares
* Incorporations
* Form 42 returns


The role also has a high level of client contact so the ability to explain tax issues clearly and confidently in a non-technical manner is important. Good organisation skills are also a must as you will be working with several partners to meet the personal tax compliance needs of their clients.
