Your new role
As the Head of Tax Planning you will report to the Executive Committee and ensure the organisation is tax compliance, aware and efficient, adhering to ongoing legislative developments. You will provide tax planning and advice on all major transactions and deliver guidance on optimum structures. You will work with the Compliance and Reporting, and Policy Holder Tax Teams made up of experienced specialists. You will manage the relationship with HMRC and liaise with industry groups to identify tax opportunities, issues and threats. Where appropriate, you will have the support of external advisors and educate senior management and other business areas to ensure the tax position is factored into new initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced tax professional able to operate as Head of Tax with excellent technical abilities, and the gravitas and personable nature to engage various individuals within the business in order to provide high quality advisory and planning services. The successful applicant will have a proven track record in corporation tax at a senior level, ideally with an insurance and/or investment background. You will demonstrate the attributes lending to success in ensuring organisations are tax compliant, tax aware, and tax efficient; such as exceptional legislative knowledge, professionalism, confidence, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and wider commercial awareness.
