A successful and growing Somerset firm of chartered accountants, based south of Taunton, is searching for a Part Time Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager professional to join the team in a key role overseeing and managing the delivery of compliance and tax planning, advisory projects to a challenging and interesting client base. Joining as a Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager, based south of Taunton, you will manage a mixed portfolio across directors of OMBs and SMEs, as well as a significant proportion of rural services and an agricultural related focused clients, with the support of an established, highly professional team of qualified, QBE, part qualified and trainee staff. Alongside overseeing the delivery of compliance services to varied clients, their is also a significant proportion of high net worth landowners (who often have other diverse businesses), landed estates and other clients, which involve significant amount of trust and IHT planning work for farming, property and leisure businesses, land agents and other rural professionals. You will run a portfolio of clients and also undertake the role of tax manager for the firm, which will involve monitoring and quality maintenance of their compliance functions undertaken by the client managers, training, leading on tax planning projects with the client managers and updating staff and clients on technical matters. You will be heavily involved in capital tax planning and family trusts. There is also potential for business development involvement and the potential to carve a key career move within this successful and highly regarded form of chartered accountants.
You will be any of CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA qualified, at least at Manager / Senior Manager level. You will have either a strong all round background in general accountancy practice and tax, or have a focused, specialist personal tax / mixed tax background. Your career will have been developed within any of small, medium, large independent firm background, or larger, national Top 50 and Top Tier firm background. You will be looking to progress your career, within a growing, highly regarded firm of chartered accountants. Whilst experience within the rural sector will be helpful, with a demonstrable interest in working in this sector, a more all round OMB, SME, varied industry client background, is equally of interest, dealing with their the tax affairs of directors and HNWIs. You will be looking to further your career and carve an influential role within a highly successful and well established firm of accountants. £45,000 - circa £60,000 or more dependent on experience and background, negotiable, plus benefits
