Tax Assistant, Independent Chartered Accountancy Firm, Glasgow, £experience-dependent + full study support

Your new company
A Glasgow-based independent firm of Chartered Accountants providing a full spectrum of services, including Accounts, Audit, Tax, Payroll and Corporate Finance, is offering an individual with accountancy and/or tax experience in a public practice environment the opportunity to receive thorough training and qualification support as a Tax Assistant. With over 30 employees and a strong reputation, surpassing a century in length, this is an exceptional opportunity to gain training from a diverse, supportive and friendly set of qualified accountancy and tax specialists, whilst working with a huge variety of clients with numerous and varying technical complexities across personal and corporate tax.

Your new role
As the Tax Assistant in a designated department of 3, you will collaborate in order to service over 1000 clients, with designated responsibilities for a portion; your own portfolio made up largely of private tax clients. This will involve processing and submitting personal tax returns, answering client queries, and supporting more senior members of the team with advisory work and more intricate compliance requirements. During this time there will be thorough training, as well as financial support for your professional qualifications.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have experience of working in a Chartered Accountancy Practice with strong numerical skills, and wish to pursue a career within tax. You will demonstrate the ability to learn efficiently, adhere to strict deadlines and work within a team. You will also have excellent attention to detail and high quality verbal and written skills.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary in line with the market and your experience, whilst gaining superb training and highly sought after experience. Further to this, the firm will financially support you through the relevant tax qualifications, ATT and CTA. Working hours are 9am to 5pm.
