Description
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the organisation and group companies comply with UK and international corporate tax rules.
The role is responsible for explaining the rules (particularly in the context of international transactions) to colleagues outside of the Tax team, ensuring that the organisation has adequate procedures to declare the correct amount of tax and that any filing or other compliance obligation is known about and observed.
As well as responding to known issues, the role is also responsible for identifying international tax risks by analysing data available from organisations systems.
Profile
Detailed knowledge of tax law and practice in the field of international taxation
Knowledge of corporation tax rules
Ability to read and interpret legislation
Good user of Excel
Able to explain difficult concepts in a straightforward way
Able to question individuals to understand the fact pattern relating to proposed or current activities
Ability to negotiate with HMRC Officers and external consultants
Substantial previous experience of dealing with international tax issues
