Tax Manager, Leading Online Trading Group, London

Consistently ranked as one of Britain’s top employers, this leading online trading Group are looking for an ambitious and adaptable individual to join their fast-paced business. Achieving c£520 million in revenues last year after rapid international expansion in the previous years, the Group are looking to expand their remit further and have some exciting plans in the pipeline. With excellent career progression opportunities in place, this would make a fantastic first step in-house for a candidate with 0-3 years post-qualified experience.


Reporting directly into the Senior Tax Manager, you will be primarily responsible for providing tax advice to the wider business. This is a highly communicative role with a light touch of tax reporting, which will be necessary for year-end. You will gain great exposure to aspects of Transfer Pricing, HMRC, external advisors and senior internal stakeholders.


Main responsibilities:

Implement Tax Strategy
Work with Business Stakeholders to maximise/protect the Group’s tax position in relation to new territories, products and legislation
Help build excellent communication with the Business in the UK and overseas
Work with and provide support to other departments to ensure all tax issues are identified and owned
Project management and research on tax projects and business development opportunities including new territories and commercial transactions
Help identify and develop other tax value add opportunities
Help review and manage the international Transfer Pricing position
Deal with enquiries from HMRC and assist in maintaining good working relationships
Help coordinate governance framework for the UK Senior Accounting Officer regime
Provide input in relation to tax risk management matters
Responsibility with the Head of Tax for Group and statutory tax reporting under IFRS
Review of UK corporate tax returns using Alphatax software
Contribute to the management of the Group’s European tax filing obligations and payments in conjunction with external advisors and Head of Tax
Monitor changes in legislation for application to the Group’s affairs
Assist with the management of Indirect Taxes and other taxes where appropriate


About You:

Professional tax qualification
Good knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
European tax compliance exposure/willingness to learn
Good knowledge of key overseas tax issues affecting a UK multinational operating overseas
Good communicator
