Continued growth of the business and changes in the business environment have created a new role within the Tax function of this well-known brand. Reporting to the Tax Manager you will assist in delivering the Indirect Tax requirements of the business. This is a hands-on role and you will be responsible for ensuring all returns are filed in accordance with the Tax Authority deadlines and any payments made in accordance with the respective deadlines.

JOB PURPOSE
> To manage the Indirect Tax functions of the business.
> Develop a close working relationship with all areas of the business including the revenue and commercial finance teams and pricing teams amongst others.
> Ensure all systems across the business are set up correctly to record and report VAT.
> Ensure standards and processes are adhered to.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
> Review all UK and European VAT and Intrastat & EC Sales list returns prior to submission to the relevant tax authorities.
> Manage the process of preparing all VAT, Intrastat & EC Sales list returns to ensure they are completed on a timely basis.
> A new accounting platform is due to be introduced during 2018 and this role will need to ensure that all indirect tax aspects are considered during the development stage and maintained on an ongoing basis following implementation to safeguard the integrity of the tax data.
> Document all new Indirect Tax processes resulting from the new accounting platform to ensure continued reporting and filing during this time and in the future.
> Review all tax related balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the team and ensure any outstanding and reconciling items on the returns are dealt with on a timely basis.
> Answer all VAT related queries from the business.
> Review existing process notes on a regular basis to ensure they are updated for any changes in the business.
> Ensure any changes in legislation are incorporated in the business and interest parties notified.
> Create a process and monitor the VAT on disruption costs to ensure full recoverability where possible.
> Any other adhoc indirect tax issues that may arise.


KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
> Current experience / knowledge of pan European indirect taxes.
> Proven experience of working in a dynamic environment.
> Excellent written, verbal, communication and thought skills.
> Strong analytical skills.
> Solid Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
> Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
