This acquisitive multi-national industrial conglomerate has recently established a new global head office in the heart of London. Publicly listed, and with revenues approaching $2bn, it has operations in Europe, Americas, Africa and Asia. With a history dating back to the beginning of the 19th century, key divisions include; renewable energy, natural resources, commodity trading and various metallic product businesses.
This is a newly created role, following a major transaction. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Tax, you will take ownership of the quarterly tax reporting process. As part of the role, you will work closely with Regional Tax teams in Europe, the US as well as the Finance teams in other locations around the world.
Key duties will include:
• Leading the reporting and forecasting of taxes across the Group
• Ensuring the Group is compliant with the International Accounting Standards for Tax (IAS12)
• Ensuring appropriate and accurate tax disclosures are in place internally and externally
• Ensuring Group Tax policies and processes are properly implemented and consistently applied
• Streamlining reporting and forecasting processes across the Group and to maximise efficiencies
• Own, maintain and expand Longview Tax reporting software for the Group
• Own, maintain and improve the global risk control matrix (“RCM”) for tax reporting as required under SOX
• Ensuring the Group’s Transfer Pricing arrangements are accurately reflected in the Group’s (tax-) reporting
• Prepare financial statements, and submit tax returns in compliance with UK, US and international tax laws as required
• Manage external tax advisers in relation to the outsourcing of compliance
• An element of UK tax compliance will be part of this role
• Work closely with colleagues in Finance, Legal and Compliance
About you:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Big 4 (equivalent) and/or in-house experience
• Proven track record of working in IFRS & US GAAP reporting environment
• US listed business experience preferred
• SOX / Internal Controls framework experience preferred
• UK and or US tax background
• Excellent English language skills are a must; Spanish and French an advantage
• Analytically strong, team-player with curiosity for our business operations
