Senior Tax Manager – Private Business, PwC Uxbridge

The South Region Private Business tax practice is set to achieve significant growth over the next few years, we are making a significant investment in new people because we are already successful and believe we can achieve much more. Working alongside private businesses, our Managers share their clients's stories as they grow. About the role

For these Senior Manager roles, experience of leading the delivering advisory and compliance work to private businesses is required, as well as the kind of skills that any Senior Manager in practice would be expected to display: portfolio management, people and team management , day-to-day client handling etc. A track record of work-winning is highly desirable. We may consider those whose experience is heavily skewed towards private client work, but ideally we are looking for corporate/mixed tax backgrounds. You will also be expected to show an awareness of wider business and economic issues generally.

The roles will predominately be to support the Partners and Directors and leading the delivery of services to existing clients and growing the business. In addition to taking on responsibility of existing clients, an enthusiasm to win work and build the business is key. Projects will be varied and wide ranging, so for example from outbound expansion to shareholder planning to transactions to innovation-based tax reliefs. You will receive full support from the Partners, Directors and from internal technical specialists based in the region and nationally.

Essential skills and experience


Practice-trained finance professional with a relevant professional qualification (eg ACA/ACCA/CTA)

Experience leading delivery of advice to privately-owned businesses on a variety of tax matters

Proven experience of project management of tax matters, including co-ordination and management of teams

Proven skills in portfolio management, delegation and assignment management credentials

Strong interpersonal skills including experience of client handling and sustaining relationships over a period of time

Business acumen, in terms of an interest in and understanding of broader business issues and an enthusiasm for developing this further in the private business market

Analytical skills and a ability to solve complex problems in a collaborative and creative way.

Evidence of work-winning is desirable.
