School and College Leaver programme 

A position on our School and college leaver programme is one of the best ways of jumping into a career with PwC early. You'll learn and develop the specialist skills our clients look for and value most and study towards a professional qualification, with support from us all the way. The work is varied and includes investigating and analysing operational and financial risk, processes, systems and controls in order to make recommendations for improvement. Good communication, analytical skills, and a strong eye for detail are therefore really important.

You'll also help governments ensure the efficient operation of tax systems, and use your insight to solve long-term problems. Compliance Services – Accounting Team

Our specialist Accounting Services (AS) team within Compliance Services (CS) is a market focused business providing accounting services to national and multinational corporations with a focus on helping them remain compliant and providing insights into their operations.Working within the CS team will give candidates the opportunity to work on high profile client assignments alongside staff across the wider Tax practice. AS provides outsourced accounting services for large national, multinational and inbound clients across a multitude of situations.

What you will do

Your responsibilities will include a range of tasks, however generally this will involve:The preparation of local and cross border client GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) statutory financial statements (SFS).Bookkeeping and preparation of periodic management accounts.Advising on statutory accounting compliance requirements.Advising on improvements to the SFS cycle i.e. the production, audit and filing of SFS.Attending group technical training meetings.Contributing to major proposals to help manage and grow the Accounting Services accounting compliance portfolio worldwide.Participating in ad hoc projects.This gives you the opportunity to learn from different clients and develop your transferable skills

What you'll gain 

You'll enjoy plenty of practical, on-the-job training while studying for a professional qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). This will enable you to secure a Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) as a core part of your apprenticeship. We'll give you study leave to go to college plus plenty of support, but you'll need to study in your own time too. The hard work will be worth it though when you pick up your qualification. And the great thing is, by the time you complete your exams, you'll have lots of valuable experience to build on.  

What you need to get in 

You'll need to have or be on course for 112 UCAS tariff* (or equivalent)You'll need to have a Grade C or above in GCSE English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent)*From up to three A Levels (excluding General Studies) or equivalent, taken in the same academic year and achieved at first sitting.Please note that if you have a degree, you may find our graduate opportunities more appropriate. Having a degree does not lead to faster progression through this programme.
