VAT SUPERVISOR EMEA, UPS Europe, Belgium

UPS Europe is looking for a VAT Supervisor that will be working for the EMEA Region and is based in Belgium. This person reports directly to the EMEA VAT Manager.

Main responsibilities:
Provide VAT advisory to the different business units
Provide technical VAT support
Manage the relationships with tax authorities and our service providers with respect to our EMEA VAT obligations
Follow up on legislative changes and business changes in order to ensure that the systems and/or processes are updated
Assist with the implementation of VAT processes for existing and new business lines
Participate in systems design, maintenance, and implementation as related to VAT matters
Review existing processes and initiate simplifications/improvements and maximize VAT reclaiming efficiency
Auditing of source data
Assist with managing VAT inspections and audits, negotiating with tax authorities and managing disputes and appeals
Provide VAT training where necessary

Profile:
Academic background (master or bachelor degree) with tax qualification
In-depth knowledge of VAT regulation
Minimum of 3 years’ of relevant professional experience in VAT (experience within a big four or multinational business environment is a bonus)
Profound knowledge of common software (MS office, Excel)
Fluent in English, additional languages recommended (Dutch and French)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Dynamic, innovative & problem resolution focused
Ability to work independent
Willing to travel periodically
