Tax Director, Stockton, to £60k

Our client is a large independent accountancy firm; they seek a qualified tax professional to lead their tax team. Ideally you will have an all round background in OMB tax - with the ability to deal with corporate tax advisory work while also managing and developing team of experienced personal tax and payroll staff.

You will manage the tax team and tax offering for the practice and be involved in recruiting and developing the department moving forward. You will also provide all round tax advice to a mixed tax allocation of corporate tax and personal tax cases. You will need proven UK corporate tax experience and should be interested in advising owner managers and their businesses. You will oversee the compliance process and will take special oversight of the more complex corporate tax cases. A large part of your role will be to assist the partners with advisory work. Day to day this will involve advice on transactions, remuneration planning for company directors, share for share exchanges and advising on how to ensure that family businesses can be transferred to the next generation.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a senior, but local North East based position. It would suit someone who is genuinely interested in dealing with an excellent OMB client base. You may currently work in corporate or mixed tax in a larger accountancy practice and be looking for a director appointment.
