As a Transaction Tax Senior Manager you'll join an integrated global network of talented advisors working in a dynamic, fast-moving and commercially-driven environment. You'll build valued internal and external relationships and will actively contribute to developing business opportunities for Ernst & Young. You'll combine technical skills with practical experience across industries and geographies to help clients understand and address the tax implications of the transactions that are strategically important to them - acquisitions, disposals, refinancing, restructurings or initial public offerings. You'll provide tailored advice to your clients to help them mitigate transaction risk and enhance opportunity. This will include providing crucial negotiation insights and recommending opportunities for improving the return on their investments. And as a senior professional, you'll underpin quality and build, manage and motivate high-performing teams.
Client responsibilities
•Lead Transaction Tax engagements on a day-to-day basis
•Project manage a team of Transaction Tax professionals to combine diverse cross-border transaction experience with local tax knowledge across a broad spectrum of industries
•Represent Transaction Tax at meetings essential to the transaction process, e.g., meetings with the management teams of the buyer, seller or target or with their other advisors and providers of finance
•Take responsibility for the preparation of reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties
•Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel
•Manage engagement economics and communicate significant issues, fees and estimates-to-complete to partners and clients
•Assist partners with generating new business opportunities and develop client networks and relationships
•Build strong internal relationships within the Transaction Tax practice and across other service lines
•Understand our service offerings and actively identify opportunities to serve clients better
People responsibilities
•Help people to develop through the effective supervision, coaching and mentoring of all levels of staff
•Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff
•Contribute to people initiatives, including recruiting, retaining and training Transaction Tax professionals
•Maintain an educational program to develop technical personal skills
•Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures and communicate them to all levels of staff
Technical skills requirements
• A bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials - accounting, business, finance or a related field desirable but not essential. MBA, Masters of Tax, JD and LLM a plus.
•Five years' plus post-qualification experience
Additional skills requirements
•Excellent written and verbal communication
•An ability to draw conclusions and to make recommendations based on often equivocal or conflicting data
•Highly-developed project management skills
•Proficiency in Arabic skill is highly desirable
