Indirect Tax Team leader - FTSE100 - London

This high performing FTSE100 multi-national has operations in every continent and millions of customers worldwide. With a handful of core divisions and an extensive range of products, this organisation has a very broad customer base and exceptional market reach.

As Indirect Tax Team Leader you will lead a small collaborative team of experienced indirect tax professionals within a larger tax function. You will manage a wide variety of indirect tax compliance processes for its leading division which operates in 150 countries. Reporting to the Senior Indirect Manager, you will oversee cross border processes, improve controls and support the business with both internal and external audits. This is a highly engaged commercial indirect tax role, ideally suited to someone with industry or Big 4 experience and the ability to discuss complex issues in plain language.

Key duties will include:

• Leading indirect tax compliance activities related to a portfolio of countries
• Working with multiple stakeholders, acting as point of contact for technical matters
• Meeting compliance objectives, often related to returns filed, tax payments made on time and balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing effectively both internal and external audits
• Contributing to the maintenance and development of existing procedures
• Management of a team, including; recruitment, training and continuous development
• Delivery of expert utilisation of provided compliance tools to ensure high quality results

About you:

• ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent
• Professionally trained in tax (Big 4 or top 10 firm) or a Group Tax/Finance function of a large multinational corporation
• In-house commercial experience preferred
• VAT & Intrastat reporting within a large company ERP environment
• Competent user of tax technology and Excel
• Previous experience of managing at least one person, ideally a team
• Fluent English speaker, with an additional European language an advantage
