We are acting on behalf of a leading internationally focussed CPA firm who have experienced significant growth over the last 12 months. With offices across the USA and internationally this firm has cemented its self as the firm of choice for many mid-size and closely held European businesses who seek to expand into the USA.
As they continue to see their Chicago office go from strength to strength the firm now seeks to hire an experienced International Tax Consultant who has a breadth of experience around international tax and domestic tax matters as it relates to US Inbound corporations and closely held businesses. You will join the firm’s national International Tax group and you will be responsible for managing projects and generating revenue for the group within the Chicago office.
You will be developing and strengthening relationships between the firms Chicago based Audit and tax Partners and the firms International Tax Group. You will be assisting these Partners as well as the firm’s Business Development managers on client meetings and educating and answering their client’s international tax questions. This is not a role heavily focussed on external marketing. You will focus most of your energies on the firms existing clients and helping the firm to better serve these clients.
You will be exposed to international, corporate, partnership and state and local tax, U.S. tax treaties, inbound and outbound structuring, domestic restructuring, U.S. tax compliance for foreign corporations, foreign partnerships and foreign disregarded entities, FATCA, foreign withholding, earnings and profits, and foreign tax credits. An understanding and experience with these concepts is highly desirable.
You will need to have acted in a consulting capacity previously but you must also be prepared to roll your sleeves up occasionally and review tax returns. So a solid grasp of accounting and tax principles is essential.
Ideally you will have 10+ years broad based international tax experience, although individuals who have had periods of time within SALT and Domestic corporate tax will be considered. You will have to have dealt with corporations inbound to the USA and have a good working knowledge of their related issues. You must be willing to continue your development and show a willingness to learn.
Given the non-traditional nature of the firm and the growth they have experienced, there is significant opportunity for professional growth and advancement in the firm including the potential to become a partner.
