JOB DESCRIPTION

The Tax Accounting Associate will be responsible for:

Preparation of sales and use tax returns, property taxes returns, rent and occupancy taxes returns, municipal and regulatory tax returns, and premium tax returns
Preparing current and deferred taxes, deferred tax assets and liabilities, tax journal entries for GAAP and Statutory financial reporting
Providing analysis and recommendations that takes tax, business and accounting issues into consideration and providing information needed to make sound decisions
Assisting in the generation and implementation of corporate Federal and State income tax strategies
Assisting management with other duties and special projects as may be assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

1+ year of Public Accounting and/or Private Industry experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or a related field
Experience with Corporate Income Tax provision accounting
Experience with Federal and State corporate income tax compliance
Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Able to multitask efficiently and effectively

Desired Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Taxation
Insurance Taxation experience
Familiarity with OneSource Corporate Income Tax software
