Tax Specialists Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a leading regional firm of accountants who are now looking to add a Private Client Tax Semi Senior / Senior to join the team in their Cheltenham office.

The role will involve looking after a portfolio of personal tax clients including HNWIs, company directors and sole traders for whom you will be responsible for ensuring that all compliance work is completed accurately and efficiently through the preparation and review of personal tax computations and returns.

As well as the compliance aspect of the role, there will be the opportunities for the successful individual to gain some exposure to tax planning work, working closely with the partners in the office on advisory projects.

The ideal candidate may be ATT or CTA qualified and will have significant experience of managing their own portfolio of personal tax clients. Some experience of Trust tax compliance may be beneficial but is not essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as the main point of contact for the client and liaising with other advisers
Working closely alongside the partner, focusing on complex compliance issues including IHT, CGT & Entrepreneurs relief.
Overseeing the annual compliance cycle on your portfolio.
Reviewing tax returns, correspondence and advice drafted by more junior members of the team;
Maximising advisory opportunities from your portfolio of clients and dealing with ad hoc advisory and planning issues as they arise;
Preparing tax advisory letters, memos and reports and reviewing drafts prepared by more junior members of the team;
Managing WIP and billing;
Supporting junior staff
Maintaining an up-to-date technical knowledge of personal, trust and business tax matters.

Skills

ATT / CTA Qualified (ACA/ ACCA Qualified and QBE will also be considered)
