You're role will be working with our tax practice (with a particular focus on our Employer Solutions team) to provide assurance and technical support on tax technical matters. Further detail can be found below:

Main Responsibilities

Operations

Manages the risk to the firm in the provision of Employer Solutions services, ensuring that the right experts are involved on a project by project basis
Ensures consistency in our advice to clients and stances with HMRC with regard to contentious opinions
Ensures that material is developed in a consistent and market facing fashion, such that our ideas are shared with the practice and sales opportunities are optimised
Ensures training material is developed in a consistent manner and is technically accurate.
Coordinates and submits Employer Solutions consultation responses to HMRC
Acts as a central advisory point for those with Employer Solutions queries to ensure that the most appropriate team review and respond to the client query (with appropriate input from enquirer such that technical knowledge is uplifted)
Can provide a central overview of best practice and ensure consistent messages are taken out in to the market place
Take ownership of the Employer Solutions sections of the tax risk manual and ensure accurate and up to date

People

Provides technical review and sign off of technical training material
Evolves training material to line with new brand promise and coaching approach to learning

Clients

Provides independent technical review for complex projects, or "knows a man who can"
Be capable of explaining technically complex material in a style which enables pragmatic risk managed advice to be provided to clients

Markets

Contributes to and reviews ideas, technical and marketing material to assist offices with work winning opportunities.
Works with existing national tax office resource to learn most appropriate format within which to develop collateral
Takes an active role to share and encourage the sharing of knowledge within the tax practice to ensure that the practice operates efficiently and is aware of business development opportunities
Contribute to external publications and develop our brand as a "thought Leader" in the Employer Solutions arena
Represent Grant Thornton on appropriate professional bodies and ensure that we have the opportunity for our voice to be heard
