To work as part of the Expatriate & Employment Tax Team in ensuring that both the Firm and its internationally mobile workforce are tax compliant.
This role will enable the compliance work associated with international assignments and UK business visitors to be completed efficiently with minimum input from outside advisors.
Key responsibilities and challenges
UK Inbound and Outbound assignments - arranging meeting, preparing meeting packs, reviewing forms, drafting letters
Overseas payrolls - helping prepare monthly overseas expatriate payrolls
Tax Payments and refunds - Reviewing the UK Tax Payment Schedule "TPS" , drawing up payment orders, providing statutory charging instructions, obtaining charging details, recording incoming and outgoing tax payments, raising anomalies to Expat tax advisors, ensuring Tax Equalisation Calculations are in place for review.
Trainee seat moves - Assisting with the management of Trainee seat moves: liaising with trainee solicitors and ensuring the relevant Double Tax Treaty "DTT" is met
Short Term Business Visitors to the UK - Responsibility for the tax compliance in relation to short-term business visitors to the UK (STBV): assisting with applications to HMRC for Treaty exemption, completion of exit/entry forms
Tax compliance contact for external advisors - chasing tax return questionnaires, organisers and e-filing
PAYE Settlement Agreement - liaising with Central Finance and internal stakeholders

Natural curiosity and willingness to learn
5 GCSE A-C's, A Levels to include Mathematics
Tax experience not essential but ideal candidate would have gained some experience in the workplace, preferably in professional services
