Based in London, this highly successful company are searching for a Interim Group Tax Manager, 12 month FTC (Maternity cover), who will be reporting into the Head of Group Tax Reporting.
Responsibilities include:
GROUP TAX REPORTING
- Assisting with all aspects of Half Year and Year End IFRS Group Tax Reporting for inclusion in the Group Annual Accounts, including ensuring that the Group's material tax exposures are monitored and managed effectively
- Liaising with the Group Head of Tax, UK and US tax reporting teams as well as the wider finance teams
- Learning to manage the tax sections within the Group Consolidation software HFM
- Reviewing the international operating companies tax provisions
- Assisting with management of the Group's effective tax rate and cash tax position for budget, monthly and long-term forecasts as well as monitoring the delivery of the Group's ETR forecasts in line with the budget
- Assisting with provision of tax models as required by various functions within the business
INTERNATIONAL TAX
- Assisting with International Tax matters including compliance, reporting, advisory and transactions.
- Liaising with external tax advisers as required
- Supporting the international businesses with their operational tax issues including advising on international bids, contract wording, permanent establishment risk, withholding taxes, employee tax issues, finance and structuring, group structure impact, utilisation of losses etc.
- Advising on liquidations of Subsidiaries and closure of branches.
- Advising on transfer pricing policies and potential exposures including implementation of new transfer pricing documentation and Country by Country Reporting in line with BEPS.
GROUP TAX STRATEGY AND MANAGEMENT
- Provide support on Head Office initiatives
- Provide tax support to other functions including Legal, Finance and HR
- Provide support to the Treasury function including documentation advice, WHT and FATCA declarations
- Promotion of tax awareness, tax communication lines and policies across the Group
- Keep abreast of changes to the taxation legislation in the UK and overseas jurisdictions and advise on the impact of the new and proposed tax legislation
TECHNICAL
- Background in corporate tax with strong in-house group tax reporting experience
- Qualified chartered accountant and / or chartered tax adviser
- Good understanding of tax accounting and reporting, legislation, statutory and regulatory frameworks, in particular IFRS
- Willingness to learn Group's consolidation HFM software
- An understanding of UK international tax legislation - wider international tax knowledge and experience would be advantageous
- Ability to build working relationships across the business and with professional advisors
Systems: Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel and ideally Sharepoint.
