Senior Tax Analyst (Global eFile), Vertex Inc.

Position Description

This role can be based in Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Germany or Ireland

In this role, you will serve as a VAT/GST subject matter expert. You will be responsible to analyze the E-filing requirements in Europe and implement these in the Vertex® Indirect Tax Returns product. You will work closely with the other VAT research analysts to review and interpret legislative and VAT return formalities changes and assist with the maintenance.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

- Quickly and effectively research and define, interpret E-filing requirements
- Determine how to stage the content into the Vertex® Indirect Tax Returns product
- Test tax content and functionality within Vertex products and internal databases.
- Provide expertise and support for testing and implementing systems and/or process changes to support increased efficiencies or conformance with tax rules.
- Contribute to the development of requirements for new tax functionality.
- Understand and resolve customer issues and systems architecture to develop solutions.
- Represent Vertex as a subject matter expert at product demonstrations, presentations, seminars, panels and webcasts if needed.
- Works without supervision and has wide latitude for independent judgment. - Lead or participate in other operational and strategic projects or duties as assigned.
- Occasional travel may be required
- Other functions may be assigned and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time.

Qualifications

We encourage individuals possessing all of the following minimum qualifications to apply immediately:

- Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Math or related discipline, OR equivalent work experience is required
- 4+ years of VAT experience , in practice or industry
- Demonstrated VAT knowledge - Understanding of VAT information and the ability to formulate interpretations and determine how they apply to Vertex products is desirable
- Strong aptitude for detail - Exceptional analytical and logical problem solving skills
- Comfortable learning customized software applications
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Must have excellent communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal communication
- Must be able to work in a dynamic, team-based environment and be able to adapt to changing and multiple priorities
