U.S Individual Tax Preparer (International High Net Worth) – Work From Home!

Our client is a small boutique international tax firm who are looking for a an international tax preparer who is familiar with preparing U.S tax returns for clients with foreign assets and/or income, expats in particular.

They seek an international tax accountant capable of preparing tax returns that have an international aspect. This includes US persons abroad, US persons with foreign income or assets, nonresidents with US source income, dual-status tax returns, as well as US entity tax returns.

You will need to have sufficient experience (3+ years) to be able to perform this job with minimal assistance of the tax manager. This is not an entry level position, they aren't interested in training someone to prepare these types of returns.

The ideal candidate should have strong research skills, be detail oriented, and have a natural desire to serve the firms clients with diligence and care. In this role, the candidate must be able to relate well to others in a consultative and service oriented manner. The candidate must take pride in their work and produce complete and accurate tax returns in a deadline driven environment.

This position requires the candidate to be a self-starter, have impeccable time management skills, be detail oriented, be able to meet deadlines, have strong verbal/written communication skills, as well as being trustworthy and organized.

About the Role

• Prepare international individual and business tax returns from start to finish.
• Prepare tax returns and related documents for clients taking part in the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Procedure, the Streamline Filing Compliance Procedures, the Delinquent FBAR Submission Procedure, The Delinquent International Information Return Submission Procedure, as well as other projects involving multi-year amended tax returns.
• Ability to prepare IRS Forms 1040 (plus associated schedules), 8938, 2555, 1116, FinCEN Form 114, 5471, 5472, 8865, 3520, 3520-A, 926, 1120, 1120F, 1120S, and 1065.
• Ability to create GAAP financials from source documents as well a convert IFRS to GAAP.
• Ability to research and understand tax treaty and totalization agreements to provide the best possible tax treatment for individuals and business.
• Strong front-facing client interaction skills with the ability to explain complex tax information in plain English.
• Aptitude for creative thinking and complex problem solving for technical tax issues.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting; however, equivalent work experience is acceptable.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience.
• CPA and/or EA preferred.
