R&D Tax| Senior Manager | London | Up to £90k

The Business Tax department provides taxation services to its mainly corporate, clients. It prepares tax provisions for financial statements, tax returns and computations, carries out tax consultancy work, and deals with HMRC, clients and third parties.

Your new role
As R&D Tax Senior Manager, you will be leading R&D meetings with clients, building and developing effective working relationships with colleagues, intermediaries and other networks to develop further opportunities and business over time. Identification of qualifying R&D projects and expenditure and undertaking technical assessments and producing technical summaries will also be part of your role. Your responsibilities will involve preparation of R&D claim financial calculations, ensuring R&D claims meet the requirements of relevant tax legislation and guidelines and project management as well as supervising and training new and less experienced R&D consultants and business development teams.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll need to be a holder of a recognised Scientific or Engineering Postgraduate Degree (MSc/MEng and/or PhD). This in combination with a business degree and/or other finance degree/qualification would be advantageous. Previous R&D experience in a relevant science or engineering sector and in preparing R&D tax relief claims will be essential as well as excellent knowledge of UK R&D tax relief schemes and claim quantification. Other skills required include the ability to manage multiple project simultaneously, a proven track record of working under pressure and to tight deadlines, excellent communication and a proactive approach to work. Fluency in a second language would be desirable but is not essential.
