Amazon entities are VAT registered in numerous EU Member States and in an increasing number of non EU countries. Amazon is seeking a Head of VAT Reporting to manage all aspects of Amazon’s European VAT and Intrastat compliance obligations across the broader European region.
The Head of VAT Reporting will be based in London, and manage existing teams located in a number of countries around Europe, and will work closely with other shared services, tax, accounting and finance teams across the globe. The function will also provide support on Indirect tax audits.
Responsibilities include:
Manage and coordinate Amazon’s VAT and Intrastat compliance across the broader European region
Share indirect tax reporting best practices
Develop and implement robust and scalable VAT and Intrastat reporting processes and systems for new business initiatives
Develop and support the existing European compliance teams
Integrate various compliance functions into the existing compliance teams to enable growth and development to support the rapid expansion of Amazon
Serving as a trusted business partner supporting the European accounting and finance teams to assure appropriate indirect tax controllership.
Support indirect tax audits across the region
Basic Qualifications
Degree qualified
Demonstrable relevant experience
Pan European indirect tax reporting experience
Excellent understanding of EU VAT principles including place of supply rules and liability for both goods and services
Preferred Qualifications
Public/private accounting experience (preferably in house for a large multi-national company/companies) with CIMA ,ACCA, ACA or similar credentials preferred
Demonstrated ability participating in milestone driven projects
