The Head of Tax will be responsible for Tax Compliance and Tax Consulting for all UK entities. The responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following duties:

* Legislation, regulation, governance and standards:

* Responsible for maintaining the relationship with HMRC, requiring contact and liaison with HMRC officers
* Maintaining Group's low risk status through meetings and other engagement with HMRC, including Risk Review Meetings
* Ensuring Tax Governance meets required standards
* Tracking changes in tax laws and practice, analysing and communicating implications to management and recommending responses

* Corporation Tax: responsible for ensuring Group meets all CT obligations and that CT affairs are organised efficiently, in particular preparation and submission of annual corporation tax computations using Alphatax software

* Tax Accounting: responsible for the preparation of the tax figures in both annual accounts, and annual and quarterly New York Group returns (actual and forecasts)
* VAT: Responsible for ensuring Group meets all VAT obligations and that VAT affairs are organised efficiently
* Payroll Related Duties:

* PAYE Settlement Agreement - responsible for preparation and submission of the annual PSA returns for benefits provided to staff
* Form 42 - responsible for preparation and submission of the annual Form 42 for share based remuneration

* Tax Consulting: the role will participate in the provision of tax advice, in studies or projects, in connection with Group's Tax Advisors, in the following areas:

* Corporate:

* Organization of Group entities in the UK for either local purposes or in relation to the global organization of the Group
* Review of Transfer Pricing requirements, kept up-to-date, preparation or review of Transfer Pricing documentation, review of inter-company Agreements
* General corporation tax advice, e.g. explanation of pension spreading rules, and more generally company pensions tax requirements, or free shares treatment

* Financial Advisory:

* Participation to the shared deal documentation process and tax policy
* Update of Master File and Local File for the UK

* Asset Management:

* Participation in the documentation of the Asset Management distribution process
* Follow-up and documentation of Irish funds tax requirements

* Ad hoc project work when required

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

* Strong academic background, including relevant degree, with extensive experience in relevant field(s)
* Significant experience in a financial services firm is essential
* Expert knowledge of UK corporation tax and other UK taxes (e.g. VAT, withholding taxes, PAYE)
* Knowledge of UK (FRS102) and US GAAP
* Good knowledge of tax regimes outside the UK and US is desirable
* Strong understanding of tax accounting for financial reporting purposes
