Our client is an instantly recognisable global tech giant with a highly reputed in-house tax team based in a number if European hubs. They are now seeking to hire a senior Indirect Tax Director in a newly created role, supporting the wider function across the EMEA region. The position will have overall responsibility for Indirect Tax operations across the region, whilst also devising and implementing key transformation projects. The role holder will also have significant people management responsibility, with both local and remote teams.

The Role
* Represent the business globally, taking the lead on engagements and negotiations with government bodies, tax authorities, and auditors.
* Lead a team of Tax specialists, ensuring continued motivation, technical development and effective management of staff.
* Assess the Indirect Tax risk of the firm's operations, making strategic decisions on the position and ensuring continued positive reputation with tax authorities.
* Refine and implement a 'best practice' group compliance policy.
* Ensure operational effectiveness and continuously improve the integrity of systems and controls.
* Advise business units on international Indirect Tax issues, ensuring tax risk is managed appropriately for all transactions.
* Work with regional and global stakeholders on VAT initiatives.
* Act as a key member of the Tax leadership team, providing ad hoc support where required.
About you
In order to succeed in this challenging role, it is expected that you will have:
* 10+ years Indirect Tax experience.
* Prior tax leadership and team management experience is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills and strong commercial decision making.
