About The Opportunity
A services company in Connecticut is actively seeking an experienced professional to join their growing staff as their new Vice President of Global Tax Operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Tax Officer, the Vice President of Global Tax Operations will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Global consolidated financial statement reporting of income taxes and separate legal entity reporting that is delivered to attest auditors for their review in accordance with ASC 740 and IAS 12.
The Vice President of Global Tax Operations will be responsible for:
Transition the financial statement reporting of taxes from External Consultants to a fully sustainable automated internal process.
Evaluating and determining if a transition of the U.S. income tax compliance from External Consultants to a fully sustainable automated internal process is optimal.
Reviewing non-U.S. compliance process and standardize outsourced services to one global service provider to achieve cost and accuracy efficiencies and improved global transparency of tax filings.
Managing the quarterly and year-end tax closing and reporting process, the FIN 18 tax rate and provision calculations, effective tax rate analysis, legal entity tax basis balance sheets, and identifying discreet items on a legal entity basis.
Researching and implementing new accounting pronouncements relevant to tax accounting
Assessing the implications of present and proposed FASB and SEC pronouncements related to accounting for income taxes, with emphasis on ASC 740, FIN 18, and FIN 48
Reviewing non-U.S. tax provision calculations and resolve income tax accounting issues with non-U.S. tax and accounting professionals
Managing current and deferred tax reporting for all domestic and foreign legal entities pursuant to ASC 740
15+ years of diverse Tax Accounting experience preferably in public accounting and extensive corporate experience managing global reporting of income taxes for a large U.S. multi-national company
Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
Strong knowledge of current FASB interpretations and U.S. GAAP rules
Proficient in Sarbanes Oxley 404 rules and their application to all tax functions
Strong knowledge of U.S. income Tax Compliance Reporting and associated processes
Strong Global Business acumen with some working knowledge of IFRS reporting
Proficient with Tax software
Microsoft Office/Suite proficient (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, etc.)
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
Previous experience in Public Accounting and extensive Corporate experience managing Global Reporting of Income Taxes for a large U.S. multi-national company
