The IBFD Knowledge Centre is home to most of the tax specialists within IBFD. It is a publications and research department with staff engaged in updating and reviewing IBFD’s publications, conducting research in international tax, and lecturing on various tax topics. The Knowledge Centre is comprised of several Knowledge Groups focused either on particular geographic regions or on specialist international tax topics. The research staff of the Knowledge Centre is drawn from all over the world, mainly having expertise in the tax systems of various countries, as well as specialisation in key areas of taxation. Staff of the Knowledge Group also participate in research, training and government consultancy work where these relate to the areas of specialism.
Currently we have a challenging position for a
Manager VAT Knowledge Group
The Value Added Tax department is a unit within the Value Added Tax Knowledge Group. The Value Added Tax department is home to IBFD’s specialists in the field of VAT. The department is responsible for delivering on IBFD’s VAT business objectives, including the preparation and review of VAT publications, delivery of VAT lectures, and government consultancy services in the area of VAT. Included in the VAT department’s portfolio are IBFD’s flagship publications on VAT: the International VAT Monitor, and the VAT Compass.
The Manager VAT will be responsible for the delivery of the publications portfolio of the team in accordance with IBFD quality standards. He/she will also be responsible for the VAT Knowledge Group budget, recruitment and coaching of the staff and their career development. Other responsibilities are the effective project planning and project management and the contracting of external correspondents and authors in accordance with predefined policy and standards. The manager VAT will report to the Director of the Knowledge Centre.
Requirements
Academic level in domestic and international tax law
Proven thorough knowledge of and experience in VAT
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
At least three years working experience in a management position
Ability to build and influence effective working relationships
Ability to operate in a complex matrix environment
Experience with planning and controlling of resources and working with targets
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Salary & fringe benefits
Depending on background and relevant work experience, we offer a salary between EUR 65,000 and 85,000 gross per year (37 hrs). Completed by an attractive package of fringe benefits, amongst others:
