Our Big 4 client is looking to appoint a Tax Director in its Riyadh office.
With many corporations operating across several borders, your knowledge of tax will be key to making sure clients stay on the right side of tax laws and minimize their tax costs. Your people skills will also be engaged as you form a close working relationship with clients, while your technical knowledge will be stretched as you develop expertise across the board in consulting, business, finance and law to craft commercially sound solutions. The role will include advising on and managing of international projects across various offices and supporting individual offices with respect to international tax planning issues. In addition, the tax director will be involved in and ideally independently market our client's services in various markets in the region. Liaising with our client's international network is an essential part of the role. Given the high profile of the position, strongly motivated candidates with excellent people skills is a requirement.
Roles & Responsibilities
Have in-depth, first-hand experience in a wide range of industries.
Must be familiar with the tax consulting process and the professionalism necessary for the effective diagnosis, solution, development and implementation of clients' tax needs.
Concentrate efforts on a variety of international compliance, research, consulting and planning issues.
Advising multinational companies on the tax implications of their international operations as well as coordinating local tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy.
Draft and assist in the delivery of proposals for engagements and are knowledgeable about the range of services offered by the firm.
Provide leadership in timely and quality delivery of services to exceed the expectations of our clients.
Responsibility for engagement budgeting, billing, management and scheduling.
Responsibility for the development and motivation of engagement staff and provide them with leadership, counseling and career guidance.
Develop and pursue creative strategies while using the latest technologies.
Responsibilities include oversee complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries; participate in engagements requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates; research and analyse a wide range of tax issues such as deferred tax liability issues and tax implications of financing techniques.
Ten or more years of general tax experience, preferably with at least 5 years focused on international taxation. Experience with a Big 4 firm, or large corporate tax department of a multinational company is required.
Consulting and compliance experience is needed.
Experience with inbound and outbound international tax is preferred.
Excellent research skills and strong written and verbal communications skills required.
Excellent project management and presentation skills required.
Prior supervisory experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field.
Advanced degree such as MST, JD or LLM preferred. CPA preferred.
Fluency in English and preferably Arabic.
