Clark Wood are working with an Independent Firm of Chartered Accountants just south of Salisbury who are currently recruiting within their Private Client Tax team.
The role will involve managing a portfolio of personal tax clients including HNWIs, company directors and sole traders for whom you will be responsible for ensuring that all compliance and advisory work is completed accurately and efficiently through the preparation and review of personal tax computations and returns.
The ideal candidate will be an ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified Personal Tax Manager with previous experience of managing a significant portfolio of private clients and relatively few corporate clients. In essence the role will be able to be moulded to the candidate’s needs.
Responsible for tax planning aspects on the same client portfolio including:
Commencement/cessation of self employment or partnerships
Analysis of ability to reduce payments on account
Pension contribution review
Capital gains tax mitigation on sale of assets
Personal loss planning
Responsible for tax compliance work on portfolio of private tax clients, including:
Ensuring Money Laundering ID and letters of engagement obtained – following TTG client take on process
Ensuring HMRC authorities are up to date
Preparation of personal income tax returns (CCH/PerTax)
Preparation of personal income tax computations (CCH/PerTax)
Submission of claims to reduce payments on account
Contacting clients and third parties to obtain whatever information is needed for the above
Advising clients of their tax return progress and final tax liabilities, including when and how to pay – in meetings where required
Submission to HMRC of all client tax returns by filing deadline
