About The Opportunity
A driven and experienced Tax professional is currently being sought out by a recognized banking company headquartered in New York City for a promising Managerial role on their Tax Controversy staff. In this role, the Tax Controversy Manager will support Tax Advisory and Tax Compliance in answering information and audit requests from Tax Authorities.

The Tax Controversy Manager will:
• Work with Head of Tax Compliance and the Head of State and Local Tax in obtaining historical data and preparing arguments
• Document proposed amendment positions from both a compliance and provision perspective
• Monitor positions in relation to open tax periods and highlight positions may be under threat as well as document proposed resolutions
• Liaise closely with Business Unit Finance and Legal Entity Controllers to understand accounting positions and available data
• Work with the Decision Support Team in highlighting risk areas in the forecasts
• Work with the Tax Provision Team to highlight risk items in the balance sheet
• Highlight potential tax technical issues
• Respond to correspondence and notices from states and cities
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Accounting Degree
• 5-10 years of related tax reporting experience
• CA
• Strong compliance skills
• Ability to multitask
• Excellent communication skills
• Detail-oriented
• Proficiency with computer platforms and applications

• Prior experience within Financial Services
